If you need to contact The Narrator, all you need to do is call out for him and he will appear in your proximity within a few moments. You don't need to worry about whether he heard you or not; he hears you.

Comments are screened for privacy. After all, what narrator would go around revealing everyone's secrets?

[Chip doesn't sleep very well. If at all. He spends some time cleaning blood flecks off him, looking at his wall, but...he feels hollow, more so than usual. He's had near death experiences before, this isn't new for him...

...but none of them were at the hands of someone he thought was his friend.

He ends up turning on the TV, Muppet Treasure Island playing for a bit as he rests on the bed before he sighs and rolls over to stare at the ceiling]

...Narrator? Could you...can we talk, a little?

[beat]

Please.

[The Narrator doesn't respond at first, to the point that Chip might think that he's not going to appear at all. However, finally he does appear, but he still looks haunted by the events that happened yesterday. He can't even look Chip in the eye when he speaks.]

Did you need something?

...I wanted to say thanks. I was thinking and...

[He lets out a breath]

You could've just. Let it happen. And then make them all go through that searching and then the...meeting. [The club.] But you didn't. You stopped it before it went any further.

So...thanks. For that. [beat] And for saving me, too.

[That does get a tiny bit of surprise from him. Not really enough to brighten his mood at all, but it's something.]

There's no need to thank me. I knew if I hadn't done something, there would be a good chance that everyone would have died from that situation. I was simply doing my job.

[yeah, well, he had to say it. he also has to ask-]

He wasn't himself, was he? I've seen mind control before. I mean, this didn't seem just like it, but that...

[...that wasn't the same Stitch who saved him from Ursula. It just wasn't.]

[He nods.]

As Stitch biography has stated, he is a genetic experiment, but there was a glitch when he was created. I think... the motive for the week is what caused him to glitch out again.

[the HELL kind of experiment is that. Chip shudders]

That's awful.

...and I bet your benefactor was just fine with it, huh?

[He doesn't sound accusatory, actually. Unhappy, clearly, but almost...testing]

... I wouldn't know, they haven't contacted me about it yet. But I'm sure if I hadn't done anything, they would have happily watched him kill off everyone.

[JFC. Chip gives the Narrator a long look...then reaches to rub his face]

And you didn't want that. But you're still...

...are you ever gonna tell us why you're working with them? I know better than to ask.

[There's actually a long, thoughtful pause at that.]

It's a long story.

[nocasetoobig]

[...well, that's. That's honestly not the response Chip thought he'd get. He looks up, blinking]

Um...you don't have to share it if you don't want to. [Just...knowing there is a reason is something.] If you do, though...

It's a multilayered situation, but I'm not really comfortable detailing it right now.

[to that, Chip nods. that's fine. he casts another glance at the television playing its video, probably the nth time he's seen it...]

...hey. Did you know who's in everybody's envelopes, or were they just...given to you?

They were just given to me. I could have looked through them before handing them out, but I thought that would be insensitive.

... Learning that Walt Disney was one of the people included in the envelopes was certainly a surprise.

That's the guy you told us not to listen to, right?

The very same person.

But doesn't that mean that you don't have to worry about him anymore?

[keyofimagination]

I suppose it might, but...

[He shakes his head.]

Either way, it's not important.

[nocasetoobig]

...I guess not. I just...I was thinking how much I missed them. I believe in them, too, that they could get out of whatever trouble they were in, with or without me. [obviously better if he was there to help, but] Do you have anyone you miss?

[keyofimagination]

[There's another pause as The Narrator thinks over this.]

... I suppose it's only natural for everyone to have someone that they miss.

If you can...go anywhere, though. Couldn't you just see them whenever you wanted?

I'm afraid it's not that simple.

[nocasetoobig]

Really? Why not?

Sometimes all the power and the universe can't fix what has been lost.
