[It's late on Saturday night, that Oswald finds himself in his room, looking over some of the things he's written down on his notes. He seems to be concentrating hard, but sets it all down eventually and just looks frustrated.]

Ooh... How am I supposed to call this guy again? Narrator? What should I even tell him...?

[Out of seemingly nowhere, The Narrator appears near the entrance of the room.]

That works perfectly fine, Oswald.

Whaa!!! [Oswald almost bounces off the bed, a few papers scattering around him, which he quickly dives for to grab. He's very quick, he is a rabbit after all.]

Criminy, don't spook me like that!

My apologies for that.

[He'd offer to help pick up the papers, but it seems as though Oswald already has that taken care of.]

I'm guessing you called me here for a meeting?

[forgottenfounder]

Yeah, I did.

[Once he's finally collected the papers again, he sets them down in a neat stack.]

I figured I'm probably supposed to tell you about what's been going on this week, right?

I'm glad you've decided not to back down on my offer.

[He sits down in a nearby chair.]

So, what do you have to tell me?

[There's a lot he could say to that, a whole lot.

But he just sighs.]

Well, we had a couple'a meetings about this place, And we had a party earlier today. Everyone's doing... alright, for now, even Ursula and that Ratigan guy.

I suppose I'm glad that no more big fights have happened.

[Yet.]

Care to elaborate what the meetings were about?

So am I. I was wondering how a guy like that Kylo Ren was going to do.

[What a guy, that Kylo.]

Oh, just talking about what this place is, wondering why we're here in the first place, magic. That kind of stuff.

[It doesn't sound like he's particularly fond of him either.]

[There is a small pause, and then...]

What about you? How has your stay been treating you?

[Guy hasn't even torn a room apart yet, Oswald.]

I'll be honest with you, meeting all of these famous Toons for the first time has been real exciting! But, y'know, I'm already missing everyone back home. My own friends, and my sweet Ortensia.

[Despite everything, he can't stop some small sound of irritation from slipping out.]

...We just went through something really, really bad. It was the first time I ever got to hear my wife laugh in... a long time. [A small, restrained sigh, as he ran his hand back over his head, smoothing his ears down.] Wasteland was... actually looking better, for once. And now I'm not even there to celebrate with my sweetiepie.

[He frowns slightly.]

I am aware of your story, Oswald. And everything about Wasteland.

If it were up for me, you would have come here at a much less inconvenient time. You really deserved something nice.

[forgottenfounder]

...You are, huh? That's a little strange, don't you think?

[Really strange.]

I know I deserve something nice. That's what I've been saying for years. And the moment I get it? This happens!

[No end to his adventures, but he at least wanted to end the last one on his own terms.]

Oh, I don't think so. I know a lot of things.

[He shakes his head.]

At least you don't have to worry about dying here. It's not the greatest comfort out there, but it's something you have that no one else in this hotel does.

...Yeah.

[He kind of deflates a little, plopping himself down on the edge of the bed.]

[There is a very long pause before the Narrator speaks again.]

... It's funny how fortune seems to frown down upon certain people. When those people did absolutely nothing to deserve her curse in the first place.

Yeah, I never was very accurately named.
