If you need to contact The Narrator, all you need to do is call out for him and he will appear in your proximity within a few moments. You don't need to worry about whether he heard you or not; he hears you.

Comments are screened for privacy. After all, what narrator would go around revealing everyone's secrets?

[When Oswald goes to his room on Monday night, he'll find the Narrator already in the room, sitting in the chair and reading a book. He puts it away and stands up once he notices Oswald.]

How has the day been treating you, Oswald?

[Oswald pauses in the doorway, hand still reached up and gripping the doorknob. However briefly, he considers just... closing the door and walking away. Instead, he hesitates.]

...It's been OK. [He remarked, tone indicating he really wants to know why this guy is in his room. The multicolored hues on every wall making the grey scale man stand out that much more.] I haven't run into any ghosts yet, which means there hasn't been any trouble.

They're pretty shy to the living, I wouldn't worry about the ghosts unless you try something bad.

I'll cut to the chase; I require your assistance.

[Which would require... Oswald shutting the door because this is private stuff.]

Then you might want to keep an eye out for Donald. [Robotic or not, the poor guy can whip up quite a temper.]

You... want my help? [He stares briefly, before silently shutting the door behind him. Now it's just them and the colors. The look on his face urges Rod Sterling to continue.]

... Yes, I am aware how how worked up he can get. [He's honestly amazed that Donald hasn't completely lost his temper in front of him yet.]

But yes, I need your help. You see, I am well aware about how... unpopular I am with the guests. So I was hoping you could keep tabs on the guests for me.

I do not require you to tell me absolutely everything, but I would prefer if you tell me anything you find unusual going on between the guests.

[He scoffs a little at Rod's mentioning of his unpopularity. But, otherwise he just nods and listens to the proposition. By the end, that's definitely... something.]

So you're saying you... want me to spy on the others for you? [It's a heck of a request, that's for sure.]

"Spy" is a harsh way of putting it. I'm not asking you to go out of your way to listen in on other people. I just want you to report to me every once in awhile with updates on the guests.

[...He scratches his chin, thinking it over.]

What would I report on? Anything specific?

[He can't imagine what someone like Rod would like to hear about.]

Any unusual activity. If a guest if acting suspicious, breaking the rules, possible outside intruders. But a general overview of the guests' state wouldn't hurt.

A general update on things, then? [He sits on that for a moment. It's definitely something he could do.]

...You're not going to hurt the other guests here, are ya, Mister Narrator?

I can assure you that I wish no ill will on any of the guests.

[... Well, maybe he does a little with Kylo, but that's healthy ill will, right?]

Trust me, if I wanted to harm any of you, I would have done it when we first met.

[He really does.]

...Oh, Okay. I'll do it. [He holds out a hand to shake on this deal. He's old-fashioned like that.] I'll be doing whatever I can to... make things better around here.

... You know I was going to add that you would get something out of this as well.

[??? He's not gonna agree to a deal like this if he's the only one that benefits from this. He's not that much of a jerk.]

It's probably notta all-expenses paid trip out of here, is it?

However, I know some of you refuse to believe that no one would be pushed to murder, but I'm sure even you're well aware that this place have some unsavory characters. In that case, I will promise that, as long as you work for me, you will not be killed in this hotel.

And, if you ever decide you don't want to do this anymore, I'll let you go with no repercussions.

[He's honestly a little flattered by the gesture, or, he would be. Given the circumstances, he's not sure how to feel.]

Is it really all that likely? I mean, maybe Ursula will cause trouble, but maybe if you just give these people a chance!

I admit, I'm amazed with how many of you are so convinced that no one will die in this hotel.

But my offer still stands. In the unlikely event no deaths happen, I suppose I could add extra incentive.
